(?) major, (underlined), July 17, 1960, III

Several times, when I approached their cage, one or both birds went into extreme TV. I noticed that the under tail-covers (of M, at least) are conspicuously marked with yellowish-(?). This color is revealed very strikingly when the TV is viewed from the rear. This presumably enhances its signal function. A bird assuming TV usually faces directly toward the (?) releasing the patterns, or faces sideways to it. So the buffy-yellow (?) be a signal to any "companion(s)."
I thought that both birds today tended to perform (?) TWs, and/or general shakes and general ruffles whenever some strange object or arrival(e.g. a (?)) came close to the cage.
I tried uttering "Ooooooo" sounds again. Twice. First I observed Hrr's reactions and their M's. There were as follows: Hrr (underlined). Tsh. Tsh. Tsh. Tsh. Tsh. Walks around. Tsh. Tsh. Tsh. Tsh.
