SEE TODAY'S NOTES ON GENERAL MIXED FLOCKS.

[[margin]] Albi [[/margin]]  (Single Albi.  General rarity of Diglossini high up.)

[[margin]] Cy? [[/margin]]  On the way up the hill this morning, I heard a few phrases which were almost certainly Cy Songs.  Ca. 8000-8500 ft.  But I didn't have time to stop to look for the birds.

[[margin]] Albi Gen [[/margin]]  Albis may "take the place" of [[underlined]] carbonaria s.l. [[/underlined]] and [[underlined]] lafresnayei [[/underlined]] here, insofar as they may be the characteristic species at the highest elevations (highest elevations available).  Possibly Albis are kept out of the highest elevations in some parts of the Andes (or, at least, are kept out most of the time) simply because they cannot compete, socially, with other species???

[[margin]] Scan [[/margin]]  This afternoon, ca. 5:20-6:00 p.m., I watched the garden of the Finca, in a rather casual manner.  It was my impression that Scans visited the garden less frequently today, when the weather was good, than either yesterday or the day before yesterday, when the weather was lousy.
