Mixed Diglossini, May 5, 1965, II

Atlapetes shut up, and I hear more Laf-like Songs. Then they shut up. Then more Atlapetes Whistle Songs.

See single Sooty Thrush alone 5:58.

This scrub on slide is really [[underlined]] remarkably [[/underlined]] empty of bird life!

See single Cotinga lone. Usual place.

Everything getting quiet 6:04 a.m.

More single Sooty Thrushes alone 6:15 a.m.

[[margin]] Cy 91 [[/margin]] 6:24. See single Cy [[checkmark]] in tree, 30 ft above ground. Region of trees along edge of slide. [[underlined]] Long [[/underlined]] formless twitters, [[underlined]] without [[/underlined]] Intro Notes! [[underlined]] alternating with Laf-like Songs! [[/underlined]]

[[margin]] Cy XXI N [[/margin]] Now see Cy [[checkmark]] flit from tree to tree. Followed by large [[checkmark]] white-bearded woodcreeper, and a small green [[checkmark]] hummingbird!

[[margin]] 160 [[/margin]] Now hear Cy songs with "Tsit Tsit" Intro Notes!

[[margin]] 92 Albi [[/margin]] Oh Lord! 6:32. 8700 ft. 2700 m. See [[checkmark]] "Glauc." Flitting thru very low scrub on top cliff edge road. Scrub open, obviously second-growth. Bird [[underlined]] obviously Diglossa. [[/underlined]] Alone. Dark dull bluish, apparently some whitish under wings. Apparently utters brief Albi-lelie R!!! My trouble is that [[underlined]] I can't be absolutely sure that it isn't a [[male symbol]] Albi! [[/underlined]] But it certainly did look [[underlined]] very blue-ish. [[/underlined]]

[[margin]] Cy Albi [[/margin]] Local Cy Territory must overlap that of this "Clauc." Literally "over". The territories of the two species probably (?) completely stratified here.

6:40. See what look like mixed flocks in trees up hill; but can't identify any of the birds.

[[margin]] 93 [[/margin]] Then see single [[underlined]] cyanocephala [[/underlined]] [[checkmark]] fly away from tall tree in which there certainly are other birds. Not followed immediately.

See single Sooty Thrush alone.
