Mixed Diglossini, May 11, 1965, III. (21)

^[[Albi? Laf 150 Cy 151]] 6:43 Whitestarts now Singing alone. Whitestart shuts up. When hear Albi-type R's. They stop. Then I see Black ^[[two checkmarks]] Diglossa fly by. Then hear Laf Song. No overlap with anything. Laf shuts up. Then "Cy" Sings alone.

^[[165 166]] ^[[CCVII HO]] ^[[Laf Cy]] 6:47. Good heavens. See [[underlined]] single ^[[checkmark]] Blue & Orange Tanager. [[/underlined]] 4 ft up in second growth scrub where Ater has been seen. Definitely [[underlined]] alone [[/underlined]]. Then it flies up into adjacent tree, [[underlined]] joining ^[[checkmark]] [[/underlined]] a Laf there! This is exact same tree where Cy has been seen. Both birds hop from branch to branch. Blue & Orange repeatedly (at least 10 times) [[underlined]] follows [[/underlined]] Laf. Both birds silent. [[underlined]] Then Blue & Orange repeatedly chases and supplants Laf [[/underlined]]!!! Both birds still silent. Both fly away. Blue & Orange in pursuit. Disappear. Then, a minute or so later, see them both in scrub. Blue & Orange [[underlined]] still [[/underlined]] pursuing. Both birds still silent. Incidentally, the scrub thru which the 2 birds passed is where I have heard Albi-type R's.

^[[Cy CC?]] 6:55. Now there seem to be 2 "Cy"s Singing. Some distance apart. Overlapping. Or [[underlined]] are [[/underlined]] these 2 "Cy"s. One seems to have Intro Notes. The other does not. Then bird without Intros shuts up. The other continues. Then shuts up too. Were these 2 birds Cy and CC??? I think so.

^[[Laf]] 7:16. Several Lafs Singing. Overlapping one another. Then shut up.

^[[Laf]] Laf Singing 7:25. NOD. In tree 15 ft up. Also low scrub

Going up hill.

^[[Laf 154 Ater]] 7:27. See [[underlined]] pair ^[[2 checkmarks]] [[/underlined]] Lafs supplant Ater ^[[checkmark]]. In small tree, 12 ft up. Probably silent. Ater makes no resistance. Disappears. The Ater and one of the Lafs probably same birds involved in chase observed a couple of days ago. But this area is 100 yds up hill. The relative positions of these 2 sites might support hypothesis that the territories of the 2 species are adjoining rather
