Mixed Diglossini, Aug. 6, 1965, III (111)

[[underlined]] attacked by Cinn - especially as the two species are similar in coloration. [[/underlined]]

^[[Cinn]] Cinns certainly are fighting among themselves.

More Yellowface songs in distance. NODWA

See single maroon crested montane cotinga. 15 ft up in tree edge ravine. Definitely alone.

^[[VB ? Cinn]] 6:20 at seg. VB visits TI three times. Each time alone, at first. Once, small green hummingbird (with whitish breast presumably [[female symbol]] or juv.) flies into tree after VB. Feeds small yellow flowers 5 ft from VB. No reaction between the two birds. Green hummingbird flies off. VB does not follow. [[underlined]] Twice, [[/underlined]] Cinn comes and perches garden and scrub 6-10 ft away from VB. [[underlined]] No reaction between the two species. [[/underlined]] (I am fairly certain that the Cinn did [[underlined]] not [[/underlined]] appear in these circumstances because it was hostile to VB, or wanted to "exort" the VB. [[underlined]] It didn't even look at the VB.) [[/underlined]]

^[[Cy VB]] Then a single Cy flies into TI. [[underlined]] VB immediately flies away into adjacent tree! Obviously [[/underlined]] a reaction to the Cy! Cy flies off. [[underlined]] VB goes back into TI. [[/underlined]]

^[[Ater VB Cinn]] 6:30. Look up to find [[underlined]] both [[/underlined]] Ater and VB in TI. Feeding 4-6 ft apart. Then Cinn appears. [[underlined]] Attacks and chases Ater. [[/underlined]] Apparently ignores VB. Ater flies off. Cinn in hot pursuit. VB continues to feed peacefully. Then flies off too.

^[[? Ater Cinn]] 6:41. Small green hummingbird in TI. Flies away immediately when Ater flies in. Ater alone. Feeds. Flies off. Back a minute later. Alone. Flies off. Cinn attacks and chases Ater just as it takes off! Both birds disappear. Ater back again a minute later. Alone. Feeds. Flies off.
