Mixed Diglossini, Aug. 16, 1967, III 21

chased by anything. And Nocti not visible or audible at the time.

[] Albi Nocti []
So there is a "normal" overlap of ranges here!!!!!

Also see a single ♂ Albi ✓66 downhill. Alone.

6:22 See single Yellowbelly ✓67 , 1 ft up in scrub. Alone.

[] Scan []
Then hear Scan Song downhill!!! Stops. Whitestart CXXVII Sings. NODWAH. Stops. Scan Sings again. NODWAH. Stops. Whitestart Sings again. NODWAH. Stops.

So there may be some mutual inhibition of Song between Scan and Whitestart CXXVII. But it probably only works when Scan is Singing least frequently.

There are lots of little hummingbirds around here. Fighting among themselves. But I can't identify them.

More CXXVII Song. NODWAH. Stops.

Aha! One of the small hummingbirds around here certainly is XX.

[] Nocti []
6:35 am. Walking a few yards down road. Other side of ravine with USTF trees. See 2 small birds ✓✓69, apparently Nocti, flying across road. From low fern scrub into higher and lusher scrub. Silent and alone.

[] Nocti []
There may be an appreciable population of Noctis here. (Which is, after all, only what one would expect.)

Flush a single footy Thrush. Alone.

Sky is clouding over now, 6:40 am.

More Whitestart CXXVII Song. All NODWAH

6:47. Back up by first Nocti area. See single Local ✓70 Yellowbelly (again). Silent and alone.
