[[margin]]
Albi
Cy
[[/margin]]
It is obvious that this ♂ Albi was not prevented from singing by the sound of Cy CN's, but was inhibited by the sound of Cy songs.

[[margin]] Albi [[/margin]]
All the song R's of this ♂ Albi were preceded by 1 or 2 introductory notes. This seems to be typical of the species here.

Glor
Albi
Glor
[[/margin]]
Back to A Glor area 8:45 a.m. See a Glor hopping from bush to bush. Probably probing for insects. Has regular tail, so can't be A itself. Apparently silent (altho I am too far away to be able to hear soft CN's. Then an Albi about 40 ft away utters 1 song. The Glor sings immediately afterwards! Song like some songs hear this morning "Zeewa zeewa...." Relatively short. No terminal Trill or R. Presumably low- intensity. Bird sitting in ordinary unritualized posture. Shuts up after one phrase. Albi immediately sings another phrase. Then Glor utters one more phrase. Then flies off. Albi continues singing.

[[margin]] Gen [[/margin]]
It is pretty obvious that the sound of one bird singing tends to stimulate other birds to sing at the same time that it inhibits it. Inhibition ceases the moment the singer stops, but the stimulating effect persists. (I am sure that I noticed this effect at Quilo; but all the birds sang so frequently there that the effect was not conspicuous.)

[[margin]] Glor? [[/margin]]
9:04 a.m. Suddenly hear a "Sreeeeeeeeeee-eeya", just like the hostile pattern of aterrima, but unfortunately I can't see the bird uttering it.

[[margin]] Glor [[/margin]]
7:07 Catch another brief glimpse of Glor singing brief low-intensity phrases. Sitting more or less erect, with rufous belly fluffed
