30 Mixed Diglossini, Sept 23, 1962 Párama La Negra [[left margin]] Glor [[/left margin]] Arrive site 8700ft. 5:45 am. Too dark to see much but can hear Glors singing already. [[left margin]] Glor [[/left margin]] One bird singing continuously. Phrase after phrase with hardly any pause between them. Phrases without R component. Singing from one perch until I approach. Then flies to another. Stays there First burst of song over 6:00 am. Starts again a few minutes later. [[left margin]] Glor [[/left margin]] Watching another Glor sing Top small tree, 25-30 ft above ground. Not particularly fluffed underneath. Again song without R component. Almost all birds here singing from tops small trees. [[left margin]] Glor [[/left margin]] Amount of black extremely variable see below [[image]] sketch of bird, black seems to come down to foot.[[image]] Another Glor song posture, of the small-headed, large bodied type, with some belly fluffing The black shown here does not necessarily go with this posture [[left margin]] Glor [[/left margin]] Watch single Glor feeding. On tubular flowers in usual way. Silent except for occassional soft "Tut." fo "Tuck"s heard near Téleferico #1 where AlCN's or SHN's. This whole area is a rather park like expanse mixed shrubbery and small trees. Lots of flowers
