62 Mixed Diglossini, Apr. 3, 1965,II [[left margin]] Glor 116 [[red]][[/left margin]] 10:05am. Quite some distance further on. Uphill (but probably still slightly below teleferico station). See 10✓[[blue #, red check]] another ✓✓ [[blue and black checks]] Glor. Silent and alone. Feeding cup shaped pink flowers, 6 ft above ground. This bird has dark chestnut belly, lots of black on sides (no visible gray). SEE ALSO TODAY'S NOTES ON MIXED FLOCKS [[left margin]] XVII N [[purple]] V NHO [[blue]] Glor [[red]] [[/left margin]] Approximately at same level as station #2, see a single✓✓✓ [[black, green, blue checks]] Glor feeding very low in open scattered bushes (area of rock and sand slide) Near group 94✓✓[[both green]] ✓✓[[blue]] White-bearded Flycatchers, but apparently not paying any attention to them. Silent. (This probably is not the bird seen earlier associating with mixed flock of PL Atlapetes and Yellow-bellied Poecilothraupis. Disappears immediately 11:45 am. Leave 1:15 pm. [[left margin]] BQ [[/left margin]] In late afternoon, walk around Hotel garden. BQ's still around 5:00 pm. One bird singing. Groups of 2, 3, or 4 phrases e.g. "Teee ta-ta-seeeeeee teeee-ta-ta-seeeeeee teee-ta-ta-seeeee-eerrr" [[wave drawing under last eerrr]]. Also just loud, jumbled, "rattle-twitters." In between feeding on bright orange red flowers of trees which are in bloom everywhere now ([possibly a species of Erythrina) [[left margin]] BQ [[/left margin]] 5:13 pm. Possible dispute between 2 BQ's? Two birds flitting about a couple of feet apart in an Erythrina. One of them does repeated Bowing. Moderately extreme but somewhat irregular. [[image:sketch of bird postures]] High posture sometimes quite an extreme st. Low posture more or less as drawn. Apparently little or no Pivoting: Probably WF's & TF's, but nothing like Q or real horizontal stretch
Transcription Notes:
Different check colors may mean something important to researcher. I believe we should designate color. Just my opinion.
*does it stand for ft. - feat? Meaning something hard to do. Or st. - for stature? Tend to think ft. because first letter looks like an f.
