Mixed Diglossini, Apr. 12, 1965, II

[]BQ[]
approximately. Many other phrases begin as "Ka zee zee zee...", but end with a "sraayoo" or "sreeyoo." Bird definitely alone. Singing normal posture. But head looks rounded - black cap quite visible - without looking ruffled. Bird then goes from tree to tree, within radius 15-20 yds, singing from each. I shall call this individual "M". Singing in Eucalypts, Erythrina. Also [[run?]] all trees in hedge-like scrub edge hotel grounds. 6:30
[]BQ[[/margin]]
None of the songs of this bird are organized into pairs or triplets.
6:31. M supplanted by Andean Sparrow. Flies away to another tree, shuts up (ie. escape inhibits song?).

[]Bari[]
6:33 See single Bari (male?) feeding in my "old" Erythrina. Definitely cutting into base flowers. Quite silent. NOD. Then flies off into Eucalypt. Lost to view.

6:30-35 There is a House Wren singing madly in one of the Eucalypts. As far as I can tell, none of the diglossines sings while the wren is vocal. But then the wren shuts up. And then I hear BQ singing not too far away.
This bird probably is not M., but it is singing same type of songs in the same way. Then hear another bird far away. Also giving same type song. No doublets or triplets.

Surprisingly enough the BQ "s" here do not seem to be overlapping one another's songs. Is there really only one individual here???? See below

6:50 Some sort of Euphonia (male) shows up in Erythrina! Wren singing again- while none of the diglossines is either visible or audible.
