Mixed Diglossini, Apr. 12, 1965, V.

[]Bari[
essentially alone. But this tree is full of a large miscellaneous collection of birds (flycatchers, Streaked Saltators, etc. etc.), so it is difficult to be sure. Then they fly into the Erythrina itself. Now certainly alone. Certainly no Baris around. Then fly away.
[]BQ[]
8:31 BQ in Erythrina. NOD. This bird certainly adult. Off again almost immediately.
There are a number of blackbirds around from time to time. Also feeding at bases clumps Erythrina flowers.
[]BQ[]
BQ's singing in distance 8:35
Then see some BQ's chasing one another, apparently silently, in and around Erythrina. NOD.
[]BQ[]
8:45. Go on back toward "old" Erythrina. M BQ still singing. Now largely doublets: "twitter-slur (or flourish) - twitter." But never singing very long at a stretch.
[]BQ[]
8:55. Come across BQ singing in Eucalypt. Songs characteristically "Sreeeeeee ta-ta-sreeeeeee" Sometimes with extra flourishes or twitters at end Songs not in doublets (except that the structure of a single phrase, such as indicated above, is bipartite and partly repetitive.) NOD.
Leaving 9:00 am.
[]BQ[]
NOTE: I've rather come to the conclusion that this is not full breeding season for at least most of the BQ's here.
[]Bari[]
Working usual area near Chorros de Milla in the afternoon. Arrive 2:30 pm. Find both male and female Baris feeding in Erythrina. NOD. Silent. The male & female are not usually close together. But eventually both disappear at same time.
[]Glor[]
A few minutes later, I see the Glor feeding in the Erythrina!
