Mixed Diglossini, Apr. 12, 1965, VI.

[]Glor[]
So it hasn't gone after all! NOD. It flies away after a few seconds. Tree left empty for some time.
[]Bari[]
This may have been another case of the Glor visiting the Erythrina because the Bari(s) were (are) there.
[]Gen[]
3:10 pm. The single female Redstart is still around. Silent and alone. In tree occasionally visited by Baris.
[]Bari[]
3:22. Both male & female Bari back in Erythrina. NOD. Both birds feeding on flowers. Female more or less following male, appr. 5 ft behind him. Male uttering occasional "Frit" Notes from time to time.
[]Glor[]
Then suddenly the Glor appears. At least 3 times supplants one of the Baris (once, at least, the supplanted individual is the female). Baris retreat to far sides of tree, but do not leave. Glor allows them to stay. It hops about for a while. Does not feed. Then flies off to another tree in its territory - leaving Baris behind! But almost immediately one of the Baris gets involved in a chase with the female Redstart. Redirection??? And then all disappear.
[]Glor Bari[]
This Glor is not just supplanting the Baris when it happens to meet them in the "normal round" of its activities. It is definitely trying to exclude them from its territory!!!
[]Bari[]
3:51 pm. Male Bari back in Erythrina (Can see he has white edges to tertials and a trace of a wing-bar.) NOD. Feeds for some time. No trace of Glor. Then female Bari arrives and the male immediately chases her over into another tree!

[]Gen Glor Bari[]
NOTE: Although some of the overt hostility between Glor and Baris here may be due to the fact that the Glor is a new arrival, this certainly cannot explain the fighting between Baris and CC's in central Peru.
