Mixed Diglossini, Sept. 2, 1965, IV

[] Glor Scan []
Cy√√76 back 7:31 Feeding quietly and alone. Then flies off.

Then I hear several Glor Songs across ravine. Completely overlapped by Scan Songs in distance. Then Scan shuts up. Glor continues to Sing occasionally. All its phrases now are completely overlapped by sounds of some other (invisible) hummingbird. LCH????

Then both birds shut up.

[] Scan []
CORRECTION: See single San alone across ravine. Feeding on same species small tubular red flowers as the local Diglossas and LCH. And it appears to be uttering the sounds which i thought must be uttered by the other hummingbird! (Incidentally, the identification of this Scan is quite definite.)

[] Scan Glor []
Scan flies away. And then I hear Glor Songs in same general area. NODWAH. 7:42. Then some Glor R-Zazas.

[] Scan Glor []
When Scan back. Uttering more "cluck" song. NODWAH. (But I do hear 1 more Glor R-Zaza completely overlapped by "Cluk"s.) Then Sacn flies off again.

[] Glor []
Aha! Glor√√45 finally appears on this side of ravine this morning. Up hill. And it is attacking and chasing some small hummingbird - apparently juvenile - much smaller than LCH!!! Hostility silent. Both birds fly off immediately.

[] LCH Cy []
LCH back on usual look out perch 7:48. Nothing else is visible at the time. LCH preens. Then feeds in nearby bush. Then Cy√√77 comes back. Feeds 25 ft away. And LCH apparently ignores it! Then LCH apparently leaves! Cy remains behind! Uttering "leet" Notes but no Song

Sun coming out 7:52. Birds in general quieter than before.

[] Glor LCH []
Then I hear some Glor Songs this side of ravine. NODWAH.

Cy flies off. Then see 4 LCH's chasing one another back and forth in this general area. All fly off.
