Mixed Diglossini, Oct. 23, 1962, III

but neither of the latter were visible or audible at same time.

[] Laf []
There seem to be several Lafs around here singing from time to time. 6:40 am

There are also a lot of migrant warblers around here.

[] Humer []
6:45. Hear several bursts of what sounds like "Humer" song yesterday. Brief, like songs heard yesterday, but with little or no R component (a "seeeee" in place of R – possibly a low intensity "int. mov." of R). Can see these are uttered by black Diglossas, but can't see the birds well enough to make absolutely sure of their specific identification marks.

[] Ruf []
Rufs seem to have disappeared from area now. Probably comparatively mobile here too.

[] Ruf? []
The long R's heard earlier may have been uttered by hummingbirds, not Rufs.

6:50 Can hear more Laf songs uphill

[] Cy []
7:05 Now I think I can hear a Cy singing in this area a little distance downhill.

[] Laf Cy []
Burst of "Laf" song seems to stimulate presumed Cy to sing. Overlap. Then "Laf" stops, "Cy" continues.

[] Humer []
7:15 Definitely see a Humer in this area. Silent. Alone (?)

All the Humers here seem to be remarkably silent, skulking, nervous, & active.

[] Laf []
"Lafs" still singing quite frequently 7:17

[] Humer []
Again see definitely identified Humer feeding low in scrub. Apparently feeding on insects.

[] Laf Humer []
Have several times heard "Lafs" sing when I thought there were Humers in area. But have not seen such incidents clear
