Mixed Diglossini, Oct. 27, 1962, V

[] Bari Bari []
here now; but I have yet to see any diglossinies with them.

See another ♀ Bari in bush in same garden as before.

5:00 pm. See a single ♂ Bari apparently looking for insects on trunk of weeping willow, about 25 ft above ground. There are Goldfinches (magellanicus?) in same tree, but the Bari doesn't pay any attention to them. Flies off before they do. Then see what is probably same bird feeding on flowers in garden, hibiscus, blue tubular flowers, and the same orange tubular flowers as before.

These orange flowers, by the way, are the same species on which I saw a small black Diglossa (almost certainly Albi) feeding in the Parque de Independencia last month.

See a ♂ Bari (probably the same) hopping about in Eucalyptus tree. Then flies down to small bush to feed on cup-shaped yellow flowers.

It is quite amazing but I have never seen a diglossini feeding on eucalyptus flowers in this region.

NOTE: The mountain above Bogotá where I have wandered is called Guadilupe.
