Mixed Diglossini, Apr. 21, 1965, V.[[circled]] 77 [[/circled]]

[[margin]] Humer Scan Bari [[/margin]]
of hundred yards away. See only 1 Black Diglossa, feeding Red Abus. I.E. the group of Humers in first garden watched today is a real flock! Just like group at Prime Eucalypts on Guadelupe. And it looks very much as if this flock has [[underlined]]attracted the Scans and Baris![[underlined]] Perhaps the group seen yesterday was a similar "mixed flock"???

[[margin]] Bari [[/margin]]
6:56. See single ♂ Bari perched exposed tall willow, 50 ft above ground. Alone. Not singing.

There are a few more Black Diglossas in third garden. So area is not completely deserted. But still much less densely populated than fruit garden.

[[margin]] Humer [[/margin]]
Back to fruit garden 7:02. Humer singing. Twitters with one terminal R each phrase.

[[margin]] Humer [[/margin]]
Most of the Humers seem to have retreated to adjacent tall Eucalypt (in flower - apparently usual species). Where they are chasing one another madly.

Still some in Abus however.

[[margin]] Bari Humer [[/margin]]
♀ Bari flies out of Abu just as Humer flies in. Then flies back. Sits peacefully while Humer feeds only 1 ft away. Humer does not attack.

[[margin]] Bari Albi? [[/margin]]
This ♀ Bari seems to have one white feather one flank. Could she be individual I called "♀ Albi" earlier???????

[[margin]] Scan [[/margin]]
7:16 Watching Scans feeding yellow Abu flowers. Definitely putting bill between sepals. Not in Diglossa holes. (I don't know if there were any holes in the particular flowers visited.)

[[margin]] Bari Humer [[/margin]]
Humers in Eucalypts definitely feeding flowers.
7:21. ♂ Bari feeding Abu. Ignored by Humers only a few ft
