Mixed Diglossini, Apr. 23, 1965, VI

[[margin]] Coer [[/margin]]
of Coers feeding on fruits in tall tree. (Apparently different species tree from the one in which they fed yesterday.) 15-25 ft above ground. Definitely same pair seen yesterday. One apparently juvenile. Duller and "dirtier" looking than the other. Pair definitely alone. Uttering constant song phrases as they move about. Presumably as greetings. Songs very Cy-like. Moderately short. Apparently softer, slightly more musical, than all or most Cy phrases here.
[[margin]] Coer [[/margin]]
Usually or always with "zawee zawee" intro notes. Followed by Twitter. Twitter apparently more regular [[zig-zag] than all or most Cy twitters here. No trace R component.
[[margin]] Laf [[/margin]]
All the time these phrases are being uttered, they overlap completely with Laf songs in distance. Eventually the 2 Coers fly away, across small (burned) valley.

[[margin]] Laf Coer [[/margin]]
Go along up hill some distance further. Hear more Laf songs. Occasionally overlapping with what may be more Coer songs.

[[margin]] 88 [[/margin]]
7:37. See single Buttiraupis √ (same species seen elsewhere). Alone. High up tall, partly burned tree.

[[margin]] Cy Laf [[/margin]]
7:45. Come across pair √√ Cys feeding low in brush. On dark red cup shaped flowers. (I have also seen Lafs feeding same species, but Cys seem to like them much more than Lafs.) Very noisy. Uttering lots of hard, loud "Tuh" notes. Often in short series "Tuh-tuh-tuh." SHN's?
[[margin]] Cy 91 Laf [[/margin]]
Laf comes over to nearby tree; 20 √ ft away. Looks at Cys silently. Then flies to more distant tree.

[[margin]] Cy Laf [[/margin]]
During the next few minutes, both Cy and Laf sing occasionally. Overlapping.

[[margin]] Cy Coer Laf 93 [[/margin]]
Cy songs are much "harder" (and probably louder) than Coer songs.

See some more single √√ Lafs alone.
