Mixed Diglossini, Apr 27, 1965

See some sooty thrushes. In pairs. Apparently alone.

[[margin]] Humer [[/margin]]
Hear some Humer R-Zaza's 5:42 am.

[[margin]] VII 30 Humer [[/margin]]
Some sort of encounter, or mix up, between Humer(s) √ and 1 or 2 √ Firebellies. Accompanied by R-Zaza. Also "SHN"s by Firebelly. It looked as if perhaps the Humer followed, or even attempted to supplant (!), the Firebelly(ies).

[[margin]] 117 [[/margin]]
6:02. See single PR √ Atlapetes in low scrub. Apparently alone. But moving up hill in general direction where a lot of bird noises are coming from.

[[margin]] Humer 122 [[/margin]]
Lots of small hummingbirds (Eriocnemis?) fighting among themselves throughout the whole area. Lots of fights between Black √√ √√ √√ Diglossas. Probably all Humers. Lots of R-Zaza's. Some R - brief twitter's. Once a couple "Zraa" type notes. But the Humers seem to leave the hummingbirds alone here. (And I have yet to see a Scan here!)

[[margin]] VIII 34 Cy Humer [[/margin]]
6:13 am. See single Cy feeding small pink flowers. Same species flower on which I have seen Humers feed. Cy √ is very near spot where PR-type "Greeting" noises are coming from. Then presumed PR's shut up.
[[margin]] Cy Humer 123 [[/margin]]
Then Cy is supplanted repeatedly by Humer (dispute). Supplants silent. Cy flies away to distant bushes. Begins to sing. Phrase after phrase. All typical Cy. Nothing else vocalizing at first. Then the presumed PR's give another burst of greeting. Cy continues to sing throughout. PR's shut up.
[[margin]] Cy [[/margin]]
Cy continues. Goes from bush to bush over a wide area, singing each bush. All songs with "Tut tut" intro notes. From previous observations here, I can say that the Cy's range or territory overlaps territories several Humers.

[[margin]] Cy Humer [[/margin]]
Cy songs overlap Humer R-Zaza's some distance away. (I don't think R-Zaza's inhibit song by anything, in any circumstan
