Mixed Diglossini, Mar 10, 1966, III. [[circled]] 29 [[/circled]] [[margin]] Scan [[/margin]] NOTE: Some of my preceding descriptions may be misleading in one (minor) respect. I have written that I have "heard Scan Higlet Displays" when I heard the sounds usually associated with this display. But apparently the same or very similar sounds can be uttered by perched birds, [[underlined]] without [[/underlined]] flight! [[margin]] CC Scan [[/margin]] Just as I start to leave, I see single CC fly up into a Eucalypt without flowers. Silent. Definitely alone. There is no Scan particularly close by at the time. [[margin]] Scan [[/margin]] Go on further down to another similar area 8790 ft 4:23 pm. Scans vocalizing madly here too. (Incidentally, all the Scan vocalization heard so far have been NODWAH.) [[margin]] Lesbia [[/margin]] See a single [[female symbol]] or juv. [[underlined]] Lesbia [[/underlined]] (presumably [[underlined]] [[nuna?]] [[/underlined]] ) feeding on all sorts of flowers very low in scrub under Eucalypts. Quite silent and definitely alone. Rain getting worse. See a small green, short-tailed hummingbird definitely feeding on Eucalyptus flowers. Nothing else around at the time. Leaving 4:30 pm. March 11, 1966 Atacaso Going to work below San Juan. Where mixed flock, with Sittis, was seen yesterday. Arrive 5:53 am. Just starting to
