[[circled]] 64 [[/circled]]

[[margin]] Colibri [[/margin]] Still raining a little when I start out. Reach top of ruins 3:20 pm. A fair amount of bird sound, although nothing of interest.

Going to head in same direction as this morning. Reach base upward side path 3:35. [[underlined]] Colibri [[/underlined]] still vocal. See single Orange-bill, silent and alone, in very low scrub.

Reach Passiflora area to find nothing active but the hummingbirds. Rain almost stopped. Then starts again. Stops again. Starts again. Fog coming in 4:35 pm.

Start downhill 4:50. More or less stop observation

Machu Picchu

Going to work same place this morning. Arrive base upward path 6:00 am. Cloudy. Light rain. [[underlined]] Colibri [[/underlined]] and sparrows in full voice.

[[margin]] Colibri [[/margin]] Between 6:10 and 6:25 hear 9 snatches of Whitestart-like Song. All completely overlapped by [[underlined]] Colibri [[/underlined]] Songs. I think that these patterns were uttered by a real Whitestart. All quite typical Bird invisible, but obviously moving along thick not very tall scrub of adjacent rocky ridge.

It looks as if the Whitestart were stimulated by rain

Rain stopped by 6:35.

7:00 Sun coming out. I move uphill a few yards

7:27 One adult and one juv. Thlypopsis appear, moving uphill through scrub. 1-3 ft up. Gleaning insects on leaves and branches. Definitely alone. Pass within a few yards of the Passifloras
