[[Gray color hatch]] I have caught a lot of Plain Tanagers in the nets, and let them all go; but I have noticed that they tend to utter hoarse harsh notes when handled (quite like this of the [[female symbol]] Green Honey-Creepers - see today's notes)

[[Blue color hatch]] A Golden-mask flew straight to a tree in which the female Tanager (see today's notes on [Praiga?]) was giving a lot of R's, peered at the other bird, with much TFs, WF's, and CN's, and then flew away. This bird seemed to be definitely "attracted" by the sound alone; as it probably couldn't see the female Tanager with it got to the tree.

[[Gray color hatch]] I am becoming more convinced that the CN Tr of the Plain Tanager is at least partly hostile. One sees flocks flying without and it may be the commonest pattern when flocks take off simply because such flights are often triggered by supplanting attacks (although everything happens too fast for me to be sure of this).

Transcription Notes:
"Praiga" is most likely a place or bird species. I do not believe this is the correct word.
