Dear Mr. Stendahl:

I am sorry that I missed you when last I was in Los Angeles, although I was only there for a very short time.

No doubt Mrs. Stendahl told you of my visit, and the fact that I was trying to send in Mr. Nast who might be interested in the Opie.  Did he ever come in?  If not, I am afraid there is nothing to do and unless you have something very specific for this picture as well as the two Braques, I would be grateful to you if you would return these three pictures as soon as it is conveniently possible.

I hope you are finding business more active in the West than we find it here in the East.
