Chen So Oung, also named Chen Yung of the south Sung dynasty, being a honorary member of the Imperial Court, was skilled in painting dragons, having attained to the highest excellence as no one ever did.

This work depicts a group of eleven dragons: some hidden in the mist of heavy fog and clouds and others in the vale of mountain tops. Chen Yung has also appended a poem. This was among the art collections of Wang Meng Tuan, a noted painter of the Ming dynasty whose seal of Kiu Lung Shan Ren was attached.
