Chow Chang

This sceptre of jade of the Chow dynasty, was excavated from Sinafu, Shensi, used in time of Chow dynasty when offering sacrifices to the gods.

The jade substance is of dark tints already regarded as a rare article in time of old.  Having been well handed to the present, this jade Chang should be a highly valuable article.

Gilded Unicorn--Han dynasty

Unicorns are considered by the Chinese people as animals of prosperity.  In the Han Dynasty, there were the socalled "Unicorn Halls" in the Royal Palaces and this was one of the Unicorn statutes of the Unicorn Hall.  The workmanship of the unicorn is of the most exquisite, and it is very life like with a coat of dark green mould of brilliant lustre, due to its long age.

It was excavated from the Pao Chi district of the Shensi province, being procured from a well known art connoisseur.
