Gilded Deer--Han dynasty.

This is considered one of the most prized of ancient antiques.  The deer is richly gilded, the two were embedded with two pieces of precious stones.  The terms "deer" and "prosperity" in Chinese have the same pronounciation, hence this was highly prized for the suspicious associations connected therewith.  Also being excavated at Sianfu, Shensi and secured by a certain connoisseur.

Gilded Girdle Piece--Han dynasty.

This metal part of girdle used by the ancient high digintaries in the Han dynasty was made to represent a moving dragon, inlaid with exquisite precious stones of the very best brilliancy.  It was among the antiqe collection of the art connoisseur Chen Kai Chi of the Wei Hsien district, Shantung.

Being excavated in the Shanse Province, this is of special large size.
