14. [7.] 7. 2.40-2.65m. Grey soil begins to appear at the depth of 2.65 m. in the northeastern corner, its physical composition much softer; more potshards and first appearance of inscribed bones; fragments of human skulls found in the southern part. 8. 2.65-2.80m. Soil greyish yellow, entirely grey in the northeastern corner; artifacts more numerous; great variety of potshards, red black and white, string-impressed and incised, latticed and parallel-troughed; shells, stone knives and inscribed bones; deer's tooth bone awl, stone axe, bronze moulds, and fragments of human skulls and long bones; the most singular find from this layer is the frontal bone of a deer's skull with two lines of inscriptions in the center. 9. 2.80-2.9m. Soil all grey; types of potshards same as above; inscribed bones, carved bones, shell ornaments and carved stones and ivories; whole layer saturated with artifacts. 10. 2.95-3.20m. Soil greyish yellow, beyond the depth of 3.1 m. virgin soil (yellow) appear in the northern section; along the southern margin of this yellow soil, is found a heap of black ash; potshards include the red string-impressed, grey-string-impressed, latticed, black incised; pebbles and bronze moulds; shells, stone knives, animal bones and human bones, bronze knive, turquoise, inscribed and uninscribed oracle bones. 11. 3.20-3.30m. Mixed yellow and black earths; bottom gradually arrived at; beyond the 3.3rd meter only the southwestern corner retains a semi-circular greyish appearance, the remaining part having mostly reached the bottom.
