Edward Alphonso Goldman - California and Mexico, October 10, 1891 - September 14, 1892

About the Project

Edward Alphonso Goldman was a young man in his late teens when he met Edward William Nelson, collecting scientist for the US Bureau of Biological Survey. Nelson would take the young Goldman on as an assistant, and for the next several years, the pair would criss-cross Mexico collecting and describing the local life. Maybe you've already joined fellow volunpeers in transcribing Nelson's notes from this time—now see what it was like from Goldman's perspective!
