Unalachleet, which duty he attended to, though none of the pleasantest until he started for the Kirchpak.  His aptitude in picking up the Indian language combined with his being a great favorite among the natives, would have made him a valuable man to the Company.

On the 20th of June the ice having left the river, preparations were made to launch the Steamer which was successfully accomplished on the same date.  After launching, the Engineer Mr. Francis immediately commenced work and in a few days his energy was rewarded by seeing his Steamer in good working condition, everything looking neat, which reflected much to his credit.  I enclose his report with this.  After the Steamer was in every respect ready for sea, I ordered her to St. Michaels to tow a house to Unalachleet.
