About the Project
William H. Ennis found himself as the man updating headquarters shortly after the death of the head of the Western Union Telegraph Expedition’s Science Corps, Robert Kennicott. This series of three reports brings to life the vast and barren lands of Alaska, and the various tribes that he and the crew encountered. The mission, of course, did not go without trouble, extreme weather such as gales, and snowstorms continually challenged the crew.
