[[underlined]] Kerrville to Lacy's [[/underlined]]

[[underlined]] April 30 [[/underlined]]. Waited at the hotel till we could see Dr. E.S. Palmer and did not get started out to the country till late.

Got a rig and drove over to Lacy's ranch. Crossed the Guadalupe River & keeping nearly due west followed up Turtle creek to a mile below Lacys, then up a side branch to his ranch.

[[underlined]] May 1 [[/underlined]] Set traps & shot a lot of birds. Made up skins.

[[underlined]] May 7 [[/underlined]] Took up traps, made up a few skins, packed up & returned to Kerrville.

We were sorry to say good bye to Mr. Lacey who has treated us with the greatest hospitality and helped us in many ways with our work. He is one of best specimens of a typical, whole hearted, generous Englishman I have met. He has a good ranch but does not give much time to farming or business. Collects butterflies & knows birds & mamals well.
