We fly over areas called mimas, also found in the U.S., which are circular humps in the ground that are quite high, giving the ground a small-poxed look from the air. They are restricted in area and may be in wetter regions.

Walt says that there'd been a recent article in natural history suggesting that gophers dug them up pre-historically in the U.S. But little evidence.

We fly Campo Grande to Sao Paulo to [[strikethrough]] Rio [[/strikethrough]] Iguacu, arriving Iguacu @ 2100 hrs. A long day.

Stay at the Hotel des Cataratas, within Iguacuo park, a grand old colonial -type hotel. Large swimming pool, rheas in back yard. Lots of landscaping and basically right in front of Iguacu hills.
