The Secretary referred to a report on the Belmont appraisal and feasibility study, expansion of facilities, operations for fiscal years 1979 and 1980, and future considerations.  The Audit and Review Committee will consider the future of the Center before any decision is reached regarding its eventual disposition.

Held in the Museum of History and Technology Sunday evening, January 27, the dinner included mechanical demonstrations in the Hall of Heavy Machinery and a performance of American music in the Hall of Musical Instruments.  The Secretary presented a citation of Michael Collins, retiring as Under Secretary, and introduced Phillip (Sam) Hughes, the Under Secretary-designate, and Richard S. Fiske, new Director of the National Museum of Natural History/Museum of Man.
