The Regents, at their meeting on September 17, 1979, reserved trust funds for the Quadrangle Project for fiscal years 1979 ($1.250 million) 1980 ($1 million), and 1981 ($1 million).

With the $500,000 in trust funds currently allocated (see attached letter), and architectural and engineering firm will be selected to prepare precise architectural concept drawings and other information necessary for National Capital Planning Commission review in April 1980 and further Congressional review later this spring. The General Services Administration will assist in the selection process. An announcement has appeared in the Commerce Business Daily, and an award is expected in early February.

In fiscal year 1981 we will seek from Congress the amount of $500,000 authorized in the legislation (P.L. 96-36). By the time we appear before the appropriation subcommittees in the spring, a complete plan for these funds as well as use of $1 million of trust funds will be in hand.

We would expect to seek from the Congress in early 1981 further legislative authorization for construction to support a fiscal year 1982 appropriation request to be augmented by trust funds reserved for this purpose by the Regents.
