be required to staff and operate the Conservation Training Center.  These operating requirements will be phased in as appropriate from FY 1981 through 1985.

[[underlined]]Collections Inventory[[/underlined]].  During the first year of accelerated collection inventory efforts at the National Museum of Natural History, over 400,000 inventory records were computerized.  In the Anthropology Department about one-half of the ethnology/archeology shelf inventory was completed.  Progress was made in physical anthropology, and plans were completed for inventorying anthropological archives.  In other departments, substantial progress was made on inventories of plants, Burgess Shale fossils, fossilfish slabs, petrology collection, carnivores, large mammals, eggs and nests, turtles and crocodiles, and mollusks to be moved to the Museum Support Center.
