Notes from the Dairy.

The part of the barn in which Bertha is now kept, has so many cracks in the clapboarding that it is very cold in cold weather.  So I am making another stall between the poultry house and the [[strikethrough]] cow [[/strikethrough]] cow shed, where there were two horse stalls without a floor.  The roof is made of rafters and meant to be covered with hay, but as we have none we are covering it with news papers and leaves.

A dog belonging to Mr. James Bradley has been coming here when he gets hungry he goes home and gets something to eat and then comes back again, so Van Cleve went to Mr. [[strikethrough]] Dan'l B [[/strikethrough]] White's
