On May 23rd we finished sowing the sweet and field corn.  We put the sweet corn in the upper part of the field where the oats is and furrowed it with the furrowing plow.  We planted the whole of the field above the "gravel pit lot" with field corn which we got from Mr. Joseph Bradley and furrowed it with the cultivator.  It furrowed a great deal straighter than the plow.

The sides of the gate of the pond have fallen in so that we can not cross the brook by way of the dam.
