Olympic skier, unable to "join the Olympic Games" as Michel puts it!

I am soon going back to dear old [[strikethrough]] Kalde [[/strikethrough]] Anton- maybe day after tomorrow, [[strikethrough]] that last week the [[/strikethrough]] where there are no dates in the year, except that one knows it is Sunday because the bread at breakfast is stale. That last week was very amusing - with the American team having a huge table in the corner of the Gasthof with a great American Flag covering the wall above, & another corner for the Belgians & their flag, & another for the English. Dot & I were unable to laugh from our injuries, & I was reading the paper to her one day, & the one bit of [[strikethrough]] n [[/strikethrough]] spicey news was about the girl who was suing her mother for having had her sterilized because her fathers Will had left a fortune to the girls children - & otherwise to the mother. a picture in the paper & said "Thats the girl about to be sterilized." Well we almost died trying to suppress our laughter - she in her cast, & me with my elephantine lip, & I had to leave the room finally.

Since arriving here I have had a swell letter from Kenneth - who sounded as if he had daydreamed on his journey home about me & Anton, just as much as I did on my journey to Davos. I liked everything about him but his ski clothes, & I know if he had had the money he would have gotten a decent one. I liked especially the way he talked to Dot when she was so ill. He said just the right things, & didn't gush for a minute. He is sensitive & intuitive - & balanced & quiet, & appreciative & sympathetic of humour & everything in its proportion of values, & is a doer rather than a talker, where John is more vice versa, though his actions & talk do correspond. I feel better & look better today - but still hope to God to get out of the mess soon,
