Good dispositions & simplicity & honesty & charm & humor & good sportsmanship are what count, & after all these are the fundamental virtues of character that should count. Things must roll off one's back like [[strikethrough]]duck of [[/strikethrough]] water off a duck's back, & pride should be blown to the winds,& confidence & health are all important, & harmonizing with the others to the point of disintegrating one's personal feelings are what count.Imagined feelings, & doubt & wonder about the world in general have no place here, & after all [[strikethrough]]it[[strikethrough]] doesn't all that make this place [[strikethrough]]a[[/strikethrough]] the best situation for judging people for the really sterling qualities? The people I know in N.Y. are mere acquaintances, while the ones I know here [[strikethrough]]are[[/strikethrough]] I really know. Alice has both types of qualities.
