Mrs E in fact was an angel showing me all over that, & [[strikethrough]] the [[/strikethrough]] a Howe & Lescaze house, which was very well planned I thought - but they should be kept big [[strikethrough]] & planted  pe [[/strikethrough]] - or they look too much like naked pill-boxes - & they should have profuse planting about them. The kindergarden made me long to go to school there - & their aim is to combine their school work with their living quarters - so that school seems like part of their home life of fun & hobbies - & they can't say - now school is over & we can go home & do what we want. Little boys were making cardboard models of the airplane hangar in Vienna - & everyone was drawing etc - & when we walked in on a group of kids -instead of shying back self consciously [[strikethrough]] then [[/strikethrough]] when the head walked in - they went on playing unselfconsciously - & yet were most respectful when talked to.

fact all through this diary "I have had no time to be brief" as a writer once said. Perhaps when I am fifty I will take two years out & reread my diaries, & take [[strikethrough]] three [[/strikethrough]] fifty more years out in which to rewrite it, & end up with fifty pages! I miss K tonight, & it is three days since I've seen him, so I wonder what it will be like in three months? I wonder still more if he missed me this weekend in Eastbourne where it was quiet enough for him to think? 

I'm sure he will miss me tonight somehow, or at least whenever he is alone at night in Witley court. 

Sometimes I wonder if I ever will marry - for I wouldn't be suited to the forceful type of person I would consider worth giving so much up for, & whomever it is I insist on continuing working at drawing, which will only be possible with someone like K, [[strikethrough]] & unless [[/strikethrough]] except that England [[strikethrough]] is [[/strikethrough]] somehow lacks the
