drawn. Well he happened to pick out the two about which that was true - but he liked it I know - & when I told him he might only need to distribute it he asked about the business end, & I was too tongue tied [[strikethrough]] at the [[/strikethrough]] to say anything except that I would see my manager about it, & write him a letter! I am hopeless about percentages & costs - & his shrewdness & experience I could see was marvelous - so I shall simply [[strikethrough]] to [[/strikethrough]] send him a letter. I have also written Julian Huxley with Kenneth's help & sent my book - but having tried thus far it looks a little as if it wouldn't come off, & yet I have at least put my finger in two pies, & with Lance Coates' & Kenneth's help can work on these frankly.

Augustus John is the newest acquaintance I've made that was a real experience. His things are so alive & dashing - with perhaps [[strikethrough]] one [[/strikethrough]] a similarity to George Luks or Goya [[strikethrough]] similar [[/strikethrough]] in their vividness & unfinished technique. I should imagine him to be [[strikethrough]] ver [[/strikethrough]] very impatient & very talented - & his colors are very characteristic. His type of painting is the type I would do if I painted, & in fact I almost feel I want to try oils someday soon. It is awful to pass by the Tate Gallery this way - but I can't write more now - I have forgotten
