which he got me very interested in, & yet I can't help feeling that though it must be indispensable in architecture, it probably happens [[strikethrough]] in a [[/strikethrough]] naturally in a talented persons compositions. I bet [[strikethrough]] people [[/strikethrough]] good artists invariably stumble upon it all the time, & though it would save a lot of time - & make the composing of a picture more automatically & directly easy, (especially for an unimaginative person) I feel one [[strikethrough]] would [[/strikethrough]] might sacrifice the feeling & other important things in a picture by putting so much thought on working it out, & I think his pictures show that. They were so very hospitable & shy, & made such an effort to feed & entertain me that I was quite touched by their pride in hospitality & efforts. She is a marvelous model - with an [[strikethrough]] very [[/strikethrough]] asiatic physique - & [[strikethrough]] such [[/strikethrough]] very simple thick-skinned forms.

I got a sweet but rather dull letter from K yesterday - & feeling in a lettery writery mood I have already answered. He was very pleased that he hadn't had to make a speech [[strikethrough]] as [[/strikethrough]] about the Oxford Cambridge races that he was ready for - & if he [[strikethrough]] hadn [[/strikethrough]] didn't live in England

Always be ready for things one doesn't want to have happen (the way he was for his speech), & never be ready for things one does want to have happen. Take it from Lil!

He was very lugubrious about the political situation - which looks slowly but surely bad, & he said that Beddington warned him against marrying me. Well - Beddington needn't worry - for I am more interested in Dynamic Symmetry than Marital Symmetry at the moment. Beddington should beware of the husky bickering wife he thinks he will marry, for she'll crush the budding flower of his artistic inspiration. To hell with the budding & bedding of Beddington - he is only in love with Kenneth Payne, & therefore jealous of me. I never write 'all my love' to K - [[strikethrough]] as [[/strikethrough]] though he does, but as I write it to mum I simply can't write it to anyone else. But how silly to think a letter ending can say as much as it means anyway.

It is midnight - one minute past - so I [[strikethrough]] have be [[/strikethrough]] am 24 years old! Thank God it is
