Writes in behalf of Biddy Jones whose grand-daughter Ida Gee was taken from City Point Va. in summer of 1863. & is now in the possession of Jaratt & his wife Anna Ton (col) in Washington D.C. Ida is a mulatto girl of about ten or twelve years old. Asks help from the Bureau in sending Ida to her grandmother.

States that he has visited Wm. Johnson (Col'd.) confined in Md. Penitentiary, convicted on evidence of Alex Stewart who lived at that time with a Mr. Votus Skiggs, who lives on eastern branch bridge Md. 2" door from the bridge and if Skiggs cannot give the whereabouts of "Stewart" information of his whereabouts (Stewarts) can be obtained from Henry Boyd cor of 11 & U Sts.

Writes in behalf of a Mr. Dubois who wants a boy from the Bureau, about 15 years of age. Will pay $52 per year & board.

States that she has been to the "Cold Orphans Home" and found a little girl named Florence Bennett who she thinks, will suit Mrs. Dr. Quigly- If necessary she will sign the papers, &c&c.

States that the causes of suffering among the poor, having in a measure passed away, the Asst. Comr. directs that the number of laborers, paid from the relief fund, and, recommended by the Local Supt. be reduced one half, &c&c.
