May 13" 1868 O.L.S.D.C. Filed 81|Chas. B. Baily|Washington D.C. May 5" 1868. States that he has an order from Gen Brown of Richmond, on Maj. Vandenburgh to issue to a colored man named John Bright some clothing shoes &c. Also states that it is impossible for Bright to call for the articles during office hours. & asks a note to enable any who he may send to draw the same.

May 21" 1868 O.L.S.D.C. Filed 82|Mrs. Dr. A. Quigley|Dansville, N.Y. May 18th 1868. States that she rec'd. a letter from a lady of the "Orphans Home" stating that Mrs. Trembly had not been there to do the business necessary to have Florence Bennett (col'd.) sent to her; As she has not heard from her (Mrs. T) she has almost come to the conclusion to give it up, unless the article can be sent to her, to do the necessary business, which must be immediately.

May 21" 1868 O.L.S.D.C. 83|Susan Walker E.B.Q"Vol 246. O.L.S.D.C. '68|Washington D.C. May 19" 1868. States that the shed laundry needs Shingling. That the ground adjoining the School needs raising and grading. That a good weather board is needed under the doors of the old part of the building. That an old privy renders the atmosphere offensive, asks that it be removed.

May 1st 1868 O.L.S.D.C. Filed 85|Miss E. Robinson Teacher.|Friday May 1st 1868. States that she has fully investigated the matter of which the Local Supt. complained and finds that her pupils are concerned;but that there is another grade higher than her's in the building, who are the offenders. Thinks no more trouble may be anticipated from them.

Peters be employed to repair the plastered ceilings of one or two Rooms at Hd. Qts Building. The damage caused by leakage of the roof last Winter & Spring. Thinks the entire cost  will not exceed $5.00/100.
