My dear Doris,-
Your letter was so welcome and I was so glad to hear from you. I hadn't written for really and truly I did not know what to say. We were all so happy for Sidney and you and then it all seemed as if it must have been a dream. I only hope and pray that there will be another just as soon as it is wise for a little one is so needed in the family, and it is just one of those things that just can't be accounted for you know how easily and quickly little Edmund slipped away.

supper. I will tell you all about it some day. and then callers til 9.30 and then all the Curtiss at 10 oclock as Helen came out on the 10 oclock train. I cant see as it did them a bit of harm and I do not think either of them were as tired as Ralph and I. They seem to brace right up and enjoy themselves and everybody and altogether it was a wonderful time and I shall never forget it. The rooms look beautiful so many lovely flowers and decorations a truly "Golden Wedding" Ralph and I gave them a lamp for the sitting room table. It was orange at the top with a band running around it which was painted the ocean . light house . rocks . ship and gulls and it gave out a beautiful, golden
