enough. One pane came out because the frame was in pieces at one corner. I shall have to try to find some way of nailing it together. Maybe I can find some sort of [[image- L-shaped wood pieces]] to join the corners. Otherwise it will be a job for Kimbis. 

Tomorrow I am going to try to get the bureaux up in your attic. I despair of getting them up here. And I must get a key for your little building, and I will finish the painting. I haven't begun to pack up anything, but think I will have to send some package back by parcel post. 

Doris got her permanent yesterday and is very well pleased with herself. If it will lessen the time she spends on her toilet I shan't complain. She has gone down to call on the bedridden Bullock girl this afternoon. Tomorrow she goes again to that dentist who doesn't do anything. And I must send along money to pay the bill.
 
I expect Mrs Barry will put in her appearance by the next day, dog gone her soul. She is the laziest person, and this the filthiest house in consequence, but I can't scrub any more. I have managed to clear up the back room a little bit anyhow.

Now I must listen to Upton Close on the Pacific news. I hope you have enough clean clothes to last
