Dear Sid:

We have had another fine day, a bit warmer. Doris and Mabel have gone off now to the pond for perhaps the last time, and are making an afternoon of it, sure enough. Ma is getting uneasy for her supper at 5.00 o'clock.

I have been puttying windows most of the afternoon and have finally finished them. Those I did yesterday aren't hard enough to paint, but I hope they may be by tomorrow, but it will take me more than one afternoon, as there are nearly 20 in all.

Doris went to the dentist and he didn't do anything today either but look at them and decide 2 weren't quite ready to fill. He said he would do the other 2 Monday morning. I can't see him, tho. He is the worst I ever knew. You had better get an engagement with me for the week of the 21st in Wash. D.C. at the dentist's. I know I have 2 or 3 to be done, and want to have them done before this man goes to war too.

How did you happen to take the 1st aid? Is that more or less compulsory like Spanish?
