I went down to your house this morning to let Doris collect the tins of fat. She got 12ยข at the grocery for it. The folks haven't apparently been near it since I cleaned up the walls. I feel as if I should do the floors, but it would take me a week to paint & varnish them, and I guess they will have to do them if they are to be done. The apples are all gone now. I had Doris leave a bag of pears at Helen Curtis' before they were eaten. And we finished them this morning. Did yours rot on your hands?

I shall have to put shingles on the ell of the Bruce place. Kimbis said they were all gone, and he would do it when he could get around to it, and it would cost around $25. But I think anything of that sort has to be done. Thank the Lord the roof of the main part is tins and that won't need any attention for sometime to come.

Don't get discouraged,- I shall arrive soon now. I hope you have sufficient shirts to carry you thru.

Happy birthday!

Doris.

P.S. The cat is O.K. & has a big fish head but Grandma pushes him out chairs all the time. We went swimming today but it was cold. Mother works too much.

Love
Doris

P.S.II HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!
