would get them done. She has only 1 appointment left, and I pity the young one if he fills them all at one sitting. Maybe he will postpone it till the first of next week.

She has gone to Boston today with the Martins and isn't home yet at 6 o'clock. I knew it would be so, but I let her go. I hope she doesn't get sick out of it. So far she is pretty well this summer.

Miss Coliord left yesterday for Dover.

Doris has her first permanent Saturday afternoon. She feels pretty important and somewhat tremulous over it. I hope she doesn't look too bad afterwards. 

So far we have had a comfortable coolness, but today it is growing warmer. I hope you won't have it too hot for your weekend. 

Your birthday comes Monday, and you must find your presents, and perhaps get a helping of ice cream. I wish we were going to be there then, but we shall come in a week now.

I am sending along an item about Starry Grant. I saw him only the other day while I was painting at your house.
