Then we went over to Cambridge, had lunch at the Georgian, — Doris was right in her element at a 40¢ lunch, — the apex of the day. I went up to Radcliffe and had the woman on admissions make out a schedule for her High School requirements, and we talked a bit about it. Then we walked up to see the quadrangle where the dormitories are and visited one that was open, saw the big comfortable lounge and the dining hall on the first floor and one of the matrons showed us the sleeping quarters upstairs, — each a separate small room with bed, dresser, desk, chest of drawers and 2 chairs and big closet. Doris was very much interested in the whole proceeding. Then we walked down and spent some time over the glass flowers and the minerals. She could scarcely be dragged away. I took her up stairs where I bid good bye to Mr Banks and Miss Bryant. And then we came home thru the Harvard Yard full of students. She was quite impressed by the whole place, and enthusiastically looking forward to going up there to school. It is the first time she has really seen Cambridge to realize it.

Miss Colcord has just called up to say she is coming over tonight. We are so tired we wish she would defer it. I saw Kimbis - the Bruces have complained of a leak in the ell and I asked him up to patch it. He promises to do it in his spare time. Tomorrow I go at painting. Rob Swan said to go to the
