Dear Sid:
   
It is nice and cool this forenoon, so that Doris pulled up all her blankets early. I hope it is comfortable with you. 
    
Yesterday I had Doris get $4 worth of putty and did your window. I put the lump remaining all wrapped up in paper in a small glass covered jar. I don't know as it will last till we need it again. I shall paint the bulkhead & start today, as it seems dry.
   
Doris has just been down after some liver for our cat whose supply was ended. Yesterday he was out sitting on top of the tall step ladder. He looked very cute. I wished I had a picture of him.

Amy was over yesterday again. She has had this offer of a teaching job at a Ft. Walton, Fla. and accepted. She wants to take her mother and Isabel down for the winter. It is a tiny place, not even on the map, somewhere near DeFuniak Sprgs. I described the country to her, and told her to be certain she had a [[strikethrough]] decidedl [[/strikethrough]] decently heated house before she took her mother down. She hadn't the slightest idea of the primitive condition of life in that part of the country. Maybe she won't go after all, but all of them,
